Police: Homeless man caught sleeping in his own feces in stairway of Bayonne building

Harry Christensen, Jr., 71, who is homeless, was charged with defiant trespass and criminal mischief, according to Police Lt. Eric Amato.

Christensen was taken into custody at around 9:28 p.m. on Thursday from 28 Avenue C after officers responded on a report of a man sleeping in feces the stairway of this building.

Upon arrival, officers allegedly encountered Christensen sleeping in the stairway after being told numerous times in the past by police to not enter the structure.

During the investigation, it was also determined that Christensen had defecated in the stairway, as he was observed to be laying in human feces.

After he was processed, he was remanded to the Hudson County Rehabilitation Center, authorities said.
