Police: Bayonne man charged in shooting incident busted with two assault rifles

The Bayonne Police Department have arrested a man in connection to a report of shots fired last week, retrieving two assault rifles and ammunition, authorities said.

Joshua Arroyo, 31, of Bayonne, was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of an assault firearm – one .223 caliber assault rifle and one modified AK47 assault rifle – certain persons not to possess weapons and possession of a prohibited device – one 30-round capacity magazine – according to Police Lt. Eric Amato.

The arrest occurred on November 09th after reports of shots fired the day before around 11:05 p.m. on West 19th Street – between Avenue C and John F. Kennedy Boulevard, police said.

Police detectives were able to identify and arrest Arroyo of West 19th Street in connection to the investigation, which is still ongoing, officials said.
