Police: Bayonne man charged in December incident where shots fired

A Bayonne man has been charged in connection to a December incident where shots were fired on West 30th Street, with no injuries reported, police said.

Victor Molina, 31, of Bayonne, was charged with possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a firearm and criminal mischief, according to Police Lt. Eric Amato.

After an investigation by the Bayonne Police Department’s Detective Bureau, Molina was
identified as the individual responsible for a shots fired incident that occurred on December 28th, 2018.

On that day around 3:54 a.m., officers responded to the area of West 30th Street on a report of shots fired and they were unable to locate any potential actors or evidence of
shots fired.

The next day, Bayonne police detectives responded back to the area and were able to locate a house displaying fresh bullet holes.

Detectives continued their investigation and were eventually able to link the incident to Molina. Molina was taken into custody this morning around 10:15 a.m.  from the area of Catherine Court, Jersey City, authorities said.
