A Bayonne man was allegedly masturbating inside his parked van early Saturday evening, with eyewitnesses confirming they caught him in the act, police said.Â

Charles Garcia, 54, of Bayonne, was charged with lewdness over the weekend, according to Police Lt. Eric Amato.
Garcia was taken into custody around 5:41 p.m. Saturday, near the intersection of 26th Street and Broadway. Officers responded on a report of a male, later identified as Garcia, seated inside his parked van and masturbating, officials said.
Upon arrival, the officers observed Garcia seated inside his vehicle with his genitals exposed, authorities said.
After an on-scene investigation, which included witnesses confirming that they observed him masturbating, Garcia was placed under arrest, police said.
