At about 5:30 a.m. this morning Port Authority police, responded to an incident inside the World Trade Center Oculus, according to Port Authority police spokesman Joe Pentangelo.
A 29-year-old woman had fallen to the main concourse floor from the escalator and was transported via ambulance the Bellevue Hospital where she was pronounced dead, authorities said.
Pentangelo declined to comment further, beyond that Port Authority police are investigating the incident, but multiple media outlets – including The New York Post – have identified the woman as Jennifer Santos.
The incident is said to have occurred when Jennifer was trying to grab a hat that her twin sister Jessica dropped while they were riding the escalator.
