Police: 28-year-old robbed at knifepoint, stabbed in the middle of the street in Bayonne

A 28-year-old Bayonne man was robbed at knifepoint and stabbed in the middle of the street last week, police said.

On Friday at 7:23 p.m., a 28-year-old male was walking on West 31st Street when an unknown male actor approached him from behind, placed him into a choke hold, and pressed a knife against him as the attacker demanded the victim’s personal belongings, according to Police Lt. Eric Amato.

At this time, a second unknown male actor approached the victim from the front and
began assaulting him by kicking and punching the victim about the head and body, authorities said.

During the physical assault, the actor with the knife began slashing at the victim with the knife, causing several lacerations to the victim’s body, officials said.

The actors then fled the scene with the victim’s wallet containing cash and personal effects, police said

The victim then responded to the Bayonne Medical Center for treatment and notified the police, authorities said.
