Qujair Humphrey, 24, of Jersey City, was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes and unlawful possession of a weapon in connection to a June 26, 2016 shooting, according to Police Capt. Janine Foy.

On the aforementioned date around 1:32 a.m., Bayonne police responded to a call of shots fired in the area of 17th Street and Avenue C. One victim, Christopher Seawell, 22, of Jersey City, was shot three times: once in the arm and twice in the torso, police said.

The victim told officials that the incident occurred in the area of 17th Street West and Broadway, adding that the shooter, described as a black male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, fled towards Broadway.

Three 40 caliber shell casings were recovered from the scene and Seawell was transported to the Jersey City Medical Center to be treated for non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Back on August 10, 2016, Elnathan Hill, Jr., 23, of Bayonne, was arrested on a warrant for attempted murder, authorities said.

Humphrey was arrested by Bayonne police this past Friday, February 17, officials said.
