In an editorial, former Gov. Jim McGreevey congratulates Ward E Councilman James Solomon on being elected mayor in yesterday’s non-partisan runoff.

Dear Neighbors,
Thank you, Jersey City.
I congratulate Mayor-elect Solomon and wish him well as he takes on this responsibility. Serving this city is an honor and a serious commitment.
I’m deeply grateful to everyone who opened their doors, shared their stories, and spoke honestly about the challenges facing their families and neighborhoods. Those conversations will stay with me.
My full focus now returns to the New Jersey Reentry Corporation, where every day we help men and women fight for a Second Chance at stability, work, and dignity. That work is where I will continue to serve our city and state in a real, hands-on way.
If you are in need of reentry services, whether returning from prison or jail, addiction treatment, or military service, please email jemcgreevey@njreentry.org.
Jersey City is strong because we look out for one another. Thank you for your trust, your kindness, and your belief in community.
Best, fondly,
Jim McGreevey
