Two North Bergen special law enforcement officers were promoted, while three new cops joined the police department at a Township Hall ceremony on Wednesday.

SLEOs Javier Garcia-Riancho and Teodulo Perez were both promoted to join the force as police officers and are currently assigned to the patrol division.
Both were born in Cuba and raised there until they were teenagers and are graduates of the Passaic County Police Academy.
Joining them on the North Bergen PD are Christian Correa, Gianny Falconi, and Ishmael Gomez. All three were raised in North Bergen, with Falconi being born in Ecuador, and Gomez is a lifelong resident who graduated from North Bergen High School.
Police Chief Peter Fasilis was master of ceremonies at the swearing-in, with Rev. Yuvan Alvarez performed the invocation and benediction.
Also in attendance were state Senator (D-32)/Mayor Nick Sacco, Public Safety Commissioner Allen Pascual, Parks & Recreation Commissioner Hugo Cabrera, Revenue & Finance Commissioner Claudia Rodriguez, Public Works Commissioner Anthony Vainieri, Hudson County Sheriff Frank Schillari, along with friends and family of the officers.
