Beginning in October of 2020, as part of a joint initiative conducted by the FBI and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit, Dave Adamovic, 48, of North Bergen, began chatting on various application platforms with an undercover detective whom he believed to be 14 years old, Robertson said in a statement.
Adamovic’s chats became sexual in nature and throughout the course of the investigation made arrangements to travel to meet the undercover detective to engage in sexual intercourse.
As a result of this investigation, on February 5th, Adamovic travelled to Bound Brook to meet with the person whom he believed to be 14 years of age to engage in sexual acts.
Upon arriving in the Bound Brook area, Adamovic was taken into custody without incident by authorities assigned to the investigation.
At this time, Adamovic was charged with attempted luring, attempted sexual assault, attempted manufacturing child pornography, attempted endangering the welfare of a child, and promotion of obscene material to a person under 18 years of age.
Adamovic was lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a bail detention hearing.
