Angel Chavix, 25, of North Bergen, has been charged with sexual contact and endangering the welfare of a child, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said in a statement.

The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief James Parker, and the Fairview Police Department under the direction of Chief David Brennan.

On Friday, July 28th, the HCPO contacted the BCPO Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual assault of a child.

An investigation by the BCPO, the HCPO, and the Fairview Police Department revealed that Chavix sexually assaulted a child who was under the age of 13 on one occasion in Fairview.

As a result of the investigation, Chavix was arrested on Friday, August 11th in Fairview. He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.

Musella thanked the HCPO and the Fairview PD for their assistance in this investigation.
