There have been no arrests yet connected to an incident where a 91-year-old Jersey City man died this weekend due to complications from blunt force trauma, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced.

On Monday, June 9th, members of the Jersey City Police Department were contacted to conduct a welfare check of an individual at 2554 John F. Kennedy Blvd, Suarez said in a statement.
Responding officers located a man – later identified as An Quan, 91, of Jersey City – in medical distress. He was transported to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment, where he was pronounced dead on Saturday, June 14, 2025.
The Regional Medical Examiner’s Office conducted a post-mortem examination on Monday, June 16, 2025, and determined the cause of death to be complications associated with blunt force injuries and the manner of death to be homicide.
The HCPO Homicide Unit was notified of the Regional Medical Examiner’s report and assumed control of the investigation.
