“We are proud to support Denise Ridley, Joel Brooks, Jake Ephros, Eleana Little, and Frank Gilmore for Jersey City Council. With these endorsements, we’re building a big tent while unapologetically putting working-class Jersey City residents first,” NJ Working Families Party Executive Director Antoinette Miles said in a statement.

“Each of these candidates brings something unique to the table and has a passion for improving lives. As City Council members, they will work to serve their communities and win bold change to make Jersey City affordable for all.“

The organization added that these candidates represent a diverse cross-section of Jersey City, including incumbents with strong track records as well as candidates running in open seats.

“Taken as a whole, these endorsements build unity around leaders who will put working-class people above the demands of corporate landlords and wealthy developers.”

They did not endorse anyone in Ward C and have not announce any endorsements for city council-at-large yet.

Their latest Jersey City endorsements comes about 24 hours after they announced they were supporting Ward E Councilman James Solomon for mayor, as HCV first reported.

Ridley and Little are part of Solomon’s slate, while Gilmore and the downtown councilman have traded support in the non-partisan November 4th contest.

Brooks has endorsed Hudson County Commissioner Bill O’Dea (D-2), who returned the favor, while Ephros is running as an independent. Both Brooks and Ephros are members of the Democratic Socialists of America.
