Conducted by Public Policy Polling, who first predicted that state Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani would be New York City’s next mayor, 494 likely voters in Jersey City were polled between October 21st and October 22nd, according to a polling memo released today.

The poll shows Solomon with 24 percent of the vote, compared to 22 percent for former Gov. Jim McGreevey and 16 percent for Hudson County Commissioner Bill O’Dea (D-2). Mussab Ali came in at 10 percent and 24 percent of respondents were still undecided.

“This poll confirms what we’ve seen on the doors, in the streets and in the community: James Solomon has all the momentum in this race,” Solomon for mayor campaign manager Stuart Thomas said in a statement.

“James has been focused on the issues that matter like affordability and housing since day one and as we head into early voting, we’re going to continue talking to the voters about them every day.”

The pollster also noted that McGreevey’s favorability has dropped 14 points from June, when he was at 38/30 (+8), now down to 30/36 (-6).

Additionally, Solomon’s lead is slightly higher among voters that say they’re certain to vote: 26 percent compared to 21 percent for McGreevey and 18 percent for O’Dea.

On Monday, O’Dea’s campaign released a poll that said he, Solomon, and McGreevey were in a three-way statistical dead heat, which came shortly after Team Ali released a poll that had McGreevey leading and him in second place.

The non-partisan contest to succeed Mayor Steven Fulop, who ran for governor instead of seeking a fourth term, is on November 4th, with early voting running from tomorrow through November 2nd.

The other candidates on the ballot are Council President Joyce Watterman, Police Officer Christina Freeman, and Kalki Jayne-Rose.
