New Hoboken parking plan presented to City Council

0

With the issue of parking always a concern to Hoboken residents and visitors, an engineering firm, Arup, was hired to evaluate parking conditions and create a new master parking plan for the Mile Square City.

Trent Lethco, associate principle of the firm, spoke with Hudson County View about some of the aspects of the proposed parking plan he presented to the city council, starting with the goals.

Lethco also addressed concerns raised by Councilman Dave Mello regarding supply and demand and permit pricing.

In addition, Lethco answered a question about a statement from Council President Jennifer Giattino regarding “targeting” certain populations.

Finally, Lethco answered questions regarding the idea of placing meters in all parts of the city, including residential, to incentivize people to use garages vs. the street for hoboken parking.
