New Guttenberg Councilman Wayne Zitt sworn in by state Senator Nick Sacco

New Guttenberg Councilman Wayne Zitt, Assemblywoman Angelica Jimenez’s (D-32) chief of staff, was sworn in by North Bergen Mayor/state Senator Nick Sacco (D-32) at last night’s meeting.

His oath of office was given in front of friends, family and esteemed colleagues, which also included Jimenez and Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto (D-32).

Zitt replaces Councilman Efrain Velez who served on the town council for eight years and was the chair for the Department of Public Works when he left the post.

Councilman Zitt showed appreciation for being elected by taking a few moments of his time to thank some of the people who have remained supportive of his decisions and hard work as he progressed through his career.

On his hopes for the future of Guttenberg, Zitt said he can’t wait to “get his hands dirty” and bring more progress to the town of Guttenberg.

Although Zitt will not be full-time at Guttenberg Town Hall, he is optimistic that his time spent alongside DPW Director Kenneth DeGrushe will equate to continued growth and success in Guttenberg.
