Natalie Vainieri, mother of county freeholder chairman, passes away

Natalie Vainieri, the founder/owner of the North Bergen funeral home that bears her name and the mother of Hudson County Board of Chosen Freeholders Chair Anthony Vainieri, passed away yesterday.

“She was a member of the North Bergen Midtown Democratic Ladies Auxiliary and created the Anthony P. Vainieri Ladies Auxiliary where they donated the first Kidney Dialysis Machine to the Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck,” reads her obituary.

“As the former first lady of North Bergen (1971-1975) she was always active in civic and social affairs. She was also a member of the White Beeches Golf and Country Club and the Boca Woods Country Club where she was an avid golfer.”

Her visitation will be at the Vainieri Funeral Home, located at 5923 John F. Kennedy Boulevard, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday. The funeral service will be held the following day at 10 a.m.,with a funeral mass scheduled to commence at noon.

Vainieri was also the wife of Anthony P. Vainieri, a former Assemblyman and North Bergen commissioner, and the mother of Valerie Vainieri Huttle – a state Assemblywoman (D-37).
