A Florida man was caught with a loaded handgun in Bayonne after running red lights and speeding earlier this week, authorities said.

Marcos M. Granja, 32, of Miami, Florida, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, and certain persons not to possess a weapon, according to Police Capt. Eric Amato.
He was taken into custody on Tuesday, March 12th at 11:06 p.m. hours from the area of 63rd Street and Sycamore Road, Amato said in a statement.
Officers in the area of 54th Street and John F. Kennedy Boulevard observed a vehicle traveling northbound at a high rate of speed and disregarding numerous red traffic lights.
The officers were able to conduct a stop of the vehicle and identified the driver as Granja.
The investigation led to the recovery of a loaded .40 cal handgun his possession, and while being processed, it was confirmed that Granja was categorized as a certain person not to possess a weapon and was charged accordingly, authorities said.
