“Kristi Noem demonstrated from the very beginning that she was not up to the responsibility of leading the Department of Homeland Security,” Menendez, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) vice chair of policy, said in a statement.

“For more than a month, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus has called for her removal, raising serious concerns about her leadership, the erosion of due process, and a pattern of abuses carried out under her watch.”

In the first cabinet shake up of his second term, Trump announced on Truth Social that Noam would be replaced by current Oklahoma U.S. Senator Markwayne Mullin (R) on March 31st.

“The current Secretary, Kristi Noem, who has served us well, and has had numerous and spectacular results (especially on the Border!), will be moving to be Special Envoy for The Shield of the Americas, our new Security Initiative in the Western Hemisphere we are announcing on Saturday in Doral, Florida. I thank Kristi for her service at ‘Homeland,” the president wrote.

“Serving 10 years in the United States House of Representatives, and 3 in the Senate, Markwayne has done a tremendous job representing the wonderful People of Oklahoma, where I won all 77 out of 77 Counties — in 2016, 2020, and 2024! A MAGA Warrior, and former undefeated professional MMA fighter, Markwayne truly gets along well with people, and knows the Wisdom and Courage required to Advance our America First Agenda.”

The New York Post reported that Trump lost his patience with Noam during testimony before Congress this week for not outright deny an affair with a subordinate and then claiming the POTUS approved $220 million in DHS ads she was prominently featured in.

Trump was quick to deny that he signed off on the aforementioned advertising campaign.

Further, Menendez chided Trump for taking more than a year to get rid of Noem, a former South Dakota congresswoman and governor, and questioned if Mullins was a qualified replacement.

Nonetheless, the two-term congressman who represents the majority of Hudson County said today’s developments out of D.C. were a net positive.

“Still, today’s development is an important step forward. The removal of Secretary Noem is a direct result of sustained oversight, public accountability, and the voices of Americans across the country who refused to stay silent in the face of corruption, cruelty, and incompetence,” Menendez declared.

“This is a victory for those who worked tirelessly to expose these failures. But most of all, it is a victory for the American people, who made clear that enough was enough and that no public official is above accountability.”

  1. Thank Goodness the woman who murdered her own dog, the woman who lied about the actions of her ICE agents who murdered two CITIZENS in Minneapolis, and the woman, whose “security” vastly overstepped their bounds by assaulting a US Senator who was asking her a question, has been fired. Now Trumpism needs to be fired. It will take Our Country YEARS to recover from the National Nightmare HE has created because too many Good People fell under his sugar coated lies (Cue “Lies” by The Knickerbockers)

  2. Junior needs to realize that Noems firing has little to do with protests and everything to do with the fact that she spent $220m without getting her message approved. While I am happy to see her go, lets put this in context
