Marianne Williamson endorses Ocampo Grajales in 8th District congressional race

Progressive leader Marianne Williamson has endorsed David Ocampo Grajales in the 8th District congressional race, stating he’s “exactly the champion we need in Congress.”

“I’m proud to endorse @DavidOcampoNJ for NJ-08! He’s a fearless progressive taking on a machine and exactly the champion we need in Congress,” Williamson tweeted last night.

Williamson has backed other progressive candidates such as Nina Turner, Melanie D’Arrigo, and Alexandra Hunt this election cycle.

“I am incredibly thankful to have the endorsement of Marianne Williamson for the Democratic primary in NJ-08,” Ocampo Grajales said in a statement.

“Since her run for president, she has been a true leader, helping to build the progressive movement nationwide and I am honored to have her support.”

His platform includes support for progressive policies like affordable housing, Medicare for All, Green New Deal and many others.

Ocampo Grajales has also pledged to reject donations from fossil fuel, oil, big pharma, and corporate PACs, executives, and/or lobbyists.

The 8th District congressional primary on June 7th is a three-way dance that also features frontrunner Rob Menendez, a lawyer, Port Authority commissioner, and son of U.S. Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ), as well as Weehawken teacher Ane Roseborough-Eberhard.
