In a letter to the editor, Bayonne Board of Education Trustee Christopher Munoz explains why is has been a pleasure and a privilege to serve.

Dear Editor,

Simply stated: It has been a pleasure.

This communication serves as a notice to the Bayonne Community that I will not be seeking re-election for another term as a Bayonne Board of Education Trustee.

First, I would like to thank the teachers for sharing with me their successes and setbacks. I would like to thank the teachers and staff for always having an open dialogue with me, their ability to tell me, “Like it is” made all the difference in my perspective and approach.

As well as, the coaches and advisors need to be thanked, they have shared with me, their many victories, and their losses. These connections made being a board member rewarding.

Now, I would like to thank the administration for taking my suggestions into account, you may not have always implemented them but you did listen and I appreciate that. It shows the caliber of professionals that our district holds.

Above all, I would like to thank the parents and the students who have always served as a constant reminder of what our roles are and what we are fighting for. It was an honor and proud moment to be elected to represent you.

My last official meeting will be on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. Until then, please continue to reach out with your thoughts and concerns of the happenings within our district.

Thank you for all your support over the past eight years. It has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I will always support the Bayonne Public Schools and the Bayonne community.

Bayonne Strong Forever

Christopher Munoz
Bayonne Board of Education trustee
