In a letter to the editor, Hoboken Republican Committee Secretary Matthew Fisher and Chair Pavel Sokolov congratulate Steve Firestone on getting elected to city council at-large.

On behalf of the Republican Party, we extend our sincerest congratulations to Steve Firestone on his hard-earned victory for City Council At-Large in Hoboken.

This election confirms that the voters of Hoboken seek leadership anchored in common-sense governance, fiscal responsibility, and a profound commitment to civic duty.

Steve’s success is a significant achievement, demonstrating that the appeal of enduring principles and pragmatic solutions transcends political divides. We were proud to stand with him and endorse his campaign.

  1. We can only hope that Steve Firestone can instill common sense with others of like mind on the City Council to temper the large tax increases Emily Jabbour backed for eight years that Ravi Bhalla proposed.

    There’s little expectation Emily Jabbour will do anything different from Ravi’s spendthrift ways. She talks about people asking for “more services,” whatever that means. There’s always people coming with demands in Hoboken. Nothing new.

    She’s surrounded by the worse of Ravi and they are crowing already for their overpaid City Hall jobs. Jabbour claimed she is not Ravi 2.0. She may be right. She may be more of the same and worse.
