Korean War Vets honored in JC, one vet talks trip to Korea with Councilman Yun

Korean War Veterans and local elected officials, including Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop, Ward D Councilman Michael Yun, and District 5 Freeholder Anthony Romano, gathered at the Korean War Memorial in Paulus Hook for Veterans Day.

A wreath was laid and a rendition of taps was played in honor of the sacrifices of fallen soldiers.

Councilman Michael Yun, a Korean-American, spoke to the crowd about the importance of the event.

Afterwards he talked with Hudson County View about a recent trip he made to Korea with Hudson County Veterans, as well as a $100,000 donation made to the Jersey City Korean War Memorial by the Korean City of Uijeongbu.

Paul “Marlu” Maiellaro, a Korean War Veteran, also talked about the trip he took with Yun.
