“My name is Maria, and I live in New Jersey. I want to ask you for your help. My sister, Ana Fonseca, brother-in-law, Paul Fonseca, and nephew, Jon Paul, have lost their home, belongings, cars and everything due to Hurricane Ian in Fort Myers, Florida,” Maria DaSilva wrote in the GoFundMe description.

“My nephew is only 12 years old and had to experience this horrible nightmare. This tragedy has devastated my family, and I hope we can all come together to help them rebuild their lives.”

The page was started on Sunday with a $10,000 goal and has reached 4,495 so far off of 23 donations.

Hurricane Ian has accounted for 99 fatalities in Florida, with 3.3 million homes and businesses losing power at some point, according to Reuters.
