Authorities have identified one of the victims of Friday’s gun violence as Jalil Holmes, 19, though the other victim has not been ID’ed as of this writing.

Holmes has been charged with a litany of crimes, including attempted murder, for a shooting on Grant Avenue back on January 9th, which officials say was the precursor to the shooting at the Newport Centre mall.

Holmes, the unidentified victim and Broadway are said to all be acquainted and were involved in a turf war that may have been gang related, police said.

Anyone with anyone information on Broadway and/or Friday’s shooting is asked to contact the Jersey City Police Department at 201-395-4000.
