The 17-second clip, embedded above, was posted on Twitter by Joel Tej and shows a dark-colored vehicle making a left hand turn while a pedestrian was in the crosswalk. The angle from which the incident was captured leaves the car’s license plate obscured.

According to a copy of the crash investigation report obtained by HCV, the incident occurred on Thursday, January 26th at about 5:31 p.m. when a 54-year-old pedestrian was walking southbound on JFK Boulevard through the intersection of Boyd Avenue.

The vehicle, which is said to be gray with an unknown make and model, fled the scene of the crash eastbound on Boyd Avenue and the pedestrian was transported to the Jersey City Medical Center for treatment.

The manager of the Rocky Liquor, located at 2260 JFK Boulevard, said he may have footage of the incident, but was unable to immediately access the footage.

The incident remains under active investigation.
