Hudson County GOP Chair Jose Arango is praising the pick of Boris Ioffe as the new co-chair of the Jersey City GOP, exclaiming “he understands how important liberty is for everyone.”

“Boris Ioffe has been a pillar of the Jewish, immigrant, Ukrainian, Republican, and Jersey City communities, he knows success doesn’t come from more ever-expanding bureaucracy and failed central planning but from strong families, vibrant communities, and freedom,” Arango said in a statement.
“Boris is rooted in the principles of the US Constitution – free speech, freedom of religion, and freedom of assembly because he understands how important liberty is for everyone.”
Ioffe is joined by Choudri Hussain, his fellow co-chair, in building a big tent Jersey City Republican Party overwhelmingly made up of naturalized immigrants and members of minority groups.
He cites the late U.S. Senator John McCain among the public figures whose commitment to freedom, courage, and values has inspired him.
Ioffe adds that he is committed to strengthening grassroots engagement and providing a constructive voice for residents who seek practical and accountable local government.
“With my neighbors, we have defended the right of regular people not to have property stolen by city government for large corporate developers,” he noted.
“I am against forced resettlement, a strong supporter of property rights, the fiscal responsibility our city government desperately needs, and the fundamental right to privacy and self-determination every citizen has.”
Though Republicans are a minority of registered voters (numbering roughly 15,000) in Jersey City, Ioffe says he believes the local GOP group will play an important role in shaping local policy, impacting nonpartisan local elections, and broadening civic discourse.

Isn’t his wife one of the BOE members who have voted to raise taxes for five years in a row?
