Vogt, who served as the campaign manager for Guy last year and then for U.S. Rep. Rob Menendez (D-8) in the June 4th primary last month, submitted a resignation letter today, effective immediately, Hudson County spokesman Mark Cygan told HCV.

The number two in Guy’s office behind Chief of Staff Jenny Davis, Vogt was also appointed to the volunteer Hudson County Schools of Technology board in a unanimous vote by the county commissioners in January.

Additionally, she had served as the executive director of the Hudson County Democratic Organization since 2018 after then-freshman Jersey City Councilwoman-at-Large Amy DeGise became the chair in June of that year.

Vogt was named the primary campaign coordinator in February 2020, just weeks before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and stayed on as executive director when Anthony Vainieri was chair the past two years before Guy took over the post in June, as HCV first reported.

She could not be reached on her cell phone, which appeared to be disconnected, this morning. Sources with knowledge of the situation, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, indicated that Vogt had also left her role with the HCDO.

The person most likely to succeed her in the political arena is Storm Wyche, who ran U.S. Senator Cory Booker’s (D-NJ) 2020 presidential campaign in New Jersey and more recently worked as the political director for First Lady Tammy Murphy’s Senate bid.

Wyche did not return an email seeking comment about the HCDO executive director post, while Guy did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
