HCPO seeking public’s help to locate Jersey City man wanted for murder of 22-year-old

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office is seeking the public’s help to locate a Jersey City man wanted for the murder of a 22-year-old who was gunned down last week.

The HCPO is seeking the public’s help in locating the whereabouts of the suspect wanted in connection with the death of 22-year-old Ahmad McPherson, who was fatally shot on Stegman Street off of Martin Luther King Drive in Jersey City on June 5th, Prosecutor Esther Suarez said in a statement

Tybear Miles, 25, of Jersey City, has been charged with murder, possession of a weapon (firearm) for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon (firearm).

On June 5th at approximately 10:05 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department received a report of gunshots fired in the area of Stegman Street and Martin Luther King Drive in
Jersey City.

Police officers responded to the area and found a male victim of gunshot wound(s)
to the torso.

The male, later identified as McPherson, 22, of Jersey City, was transported by
Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center. He was pronounced dead at
approximately 10:40 p.m.

The Regional Medical Examiner determined the cause of death to be gunshot wounds to the torso and the manner of death to be homicide.

Anyone who sees Miles should not approach him, but should instead immediately contact police.
