“When not disposed of correctly, unused prescription medication and vaping devices far too often find a way into the hands of vulnerable individuals to be abused or misused,” Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said in a statement.

“The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office is pleased to join law enforcement agencies across the country in participating in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day to see that these items are discarded in a safe and appropriate manner.”

Unused prescription medication and vaping devices can be safely disposed of on Saturday, April 22nd, between 10 a.m. and 12 noon at Bayonne City Hall, 630 Avenue C, as well as the Lidl parking lot in Weehawken – 4100 Park Ave.

Then, from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., the HCPO will be station at the Mary McCleod Bethune Life Center, 140 Martin Luther King Drive, and the ShopRite parking lot in North Bergen – 3147 John F. Kennedy Blvd.

Additionally, the police departments in Hoboken, Kearny, North Bergen, Secaucus, Union City, and Weehawken will have drop off locations at their respective headquarters between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
