HCPO and Jersey City police investigating fiery fatal crash on JFK Boulevard

Hudson County and Jersey City authorities are investigating a fatal fiery crash on John F. Kennedy Boulevard that occurred early his morning, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.

At approximately 2:22 a.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a collision on JFK  Boulevard in the area of St. Pauls Avenue, Suarez said in a statement.

Responding officers found a vehicle fully engulfed in flames on the northbound side of the roadway. The driver, tentatively identified as a 25-year-old Jersey City man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit is actively investigating this case with assistance from the Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force and the Jersey City Police Department.

  1. I have a hunch there was a race going on Kennedy Blvd at this hour and unfortunately it cost this young man’s life. I am out at this hour and witness racing all the time .
