Anmerlene Demetroudis, 59, is charged with one count of theft by deception, a third-degree crime, Suarez said in a statement.

She was arrested at her residence in Guttenberg and released on a summons pending her first court appearance, which is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, July 25th.

The investigation found Demetroudis failed to report income she earned as a home health aide, resulting in an overpayment of more than $20,000 in benefits from the Social Security Administration, the Medicaid Benefit Program, the Department of Community Affairs Rental Assistance Program, and NJ FamilyCare between June 2020 and November 2022.

Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Unit and the United States Social Security Administration Office of the Inspector General with the investigation and arrest.
