Andrew LaBruno, a former Dumont mayor and ex-Jersey City Police Superior Officers Association President, Demarest Councilman David Jiang join the slate in Bergen County’s LD-39, while Edison Police Lt. David Tingle will run in Middlesex County’s LD-18.

With these new additions, Fulop now has endorsed 27 state Assembly candidates and four county commissioner candidates throughout the state.

“We are running a campaign that is not beholden to the political machine, and these three candidates are great examples of having already been able to shake up the status quo. That is what this campaign is about,” the mayor said in a statement.

“We’re focused on the people of New Jersey, not the politics, which is why we continue to support candidates who are advocates and community leaders across the state. These are the people who will bring about necessary change that NJ residents deserve.”

LaBruno is a police sergeant for the Jersey City Police Department and served one term as Dumont mayor after a short stint on the borough council.

He also founded the founded the Dumont Community Group (DCG), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to fostering positive change in the community through engaging events.

As for Jiang, he won in an upset in 2022 and has since focused on public safety by strengthening leadership in the police department and providing firefighters with essential resources.

Additionally, as chair of the Downtown Economic Redevelopment Committee, Jiang is working to revitalize the local economy and create opportunities for businesses and residents alike.

Finally, Tingle earned the rank of chief master sergeant as a member of the U.S. Air Force and was assigned as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the 87th Security Forces Squadron at Joint Base McGuire Dix.

He is also currently the Commander of American Legion Father and Son Post 435. He is also a lifetime member of VFW Post 3117 and Edison Elks Lodge 2487, and serves on Edison’s Veterans Committee and as the Vice President of the Edison Arts Society.
