Following the lead of the Bayonne City Council, the local planning board is going to livestream their meetings on YouTube going forward.

“My administration has heard the call for transparency and continues to take action. Proceedings about land use deserve to be seen by the public – whether that’s at City Hall or in the comfort of their own homes,” Mayor Sharon Ashe-Nadrowski said in a statement.
“I’m happy to see this through and ensure the city clears the air of confusion and uncertainty as we move to livestream all public proceedings.”
The first council meeting made available live on YouTube was the July 23rd public session, which Ashe-Nadrowski said at the time was being done to increase transparency and accessibility for Peninsula City residents.
“Planning board decisions shape the future of our city, and the public deserves clear and convenient access to that process. Livestreaming these meetings is an important step toward greater transparency, awareness, and community participation,” added Councilwoman at-Large Mariam Salama.
She also serves as the City Council representative on the Bayonne Planning Board.
Both livestreamed meetings and reruns will be available on the City of Bayonne Channel on YouTube.
BAY-TV will also continue to carry live local government meetings and reruns on Optimum and Verizon Fios.
In the coming days, the Ashe-Nadrowski administration plans to further extend livestreaming to include meetings of the Bayonne Zoning Board of Adjustment and the Historic Preservation Commission.
