“His sudden passing have left all of us in shock and grief. His parents have declined any help from the school where the incident occurred. We are setting this up independently with the consent of his parents,” the description on the GoFundMe page said.

“Any contribution we receive will go towards his funeral arrangements and travel expense to their home country for the burial. Thank you for your kindness and generosity during this very difficult time.”

The page was started on Friday and has already shattered their goal of $15,000, receiving $22,549 in donations from 450 people as of 1:45 p.m. this afternoon.

The boy, who has not yet been identified, died on Friday after he didn’t wake up from a nap at Rafael De J. Cordero No. 37 Elementary School. He was pronounced dead on arrival after being rushed to the Jersey City Medical Center.

Several people who commented on the GoFundMe page referred to the boy as Kyle as they offered their condolences to the family.

“Any words are worthless at this very sad moment. This fine family really don’t deserve such misfortune. Suresh and Irene, your beloved Kyle is in heaven in peace now, be strong for your beautiful daughter, God bless you!,” wrote Gary Liu.

“Kyle’s smile and energy will be sorely missed. He lit up our class and was a star on stage. His family is warm, wonderful, kind and loving. May they have the strength to get through this unfathomable loss. Kyle you will be in our thoughts and prayers always!,” added Shehnaaz Jagasia.
