CarePoint recognized by Jersey City for their sexual assault awareness program

Hudson S.P.E.A.K.S. (Supports, Prevents, Educates Advocates to Keep Strong), a CarePoint Health program, was recognized by Jersey City during Sexual Assault Awareness Month (S.A.A.M.) in April.

“We are immensely proud of the entire team at Hudson S.P.E.A.K.S. for their impactful work in supporting the community of Hudson County and the surrounding areas,” Hudson S.P.E.A.K.S. Program Director Bishnu Pariyar said in a statement.

Both Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop and the city council have honored Hudson S.P.E.A.K.S. with a proclamation and a council resolution, commending the organization for its compassionate dedication to supporting survivors.

Specifically, Fulop’s city proclamation acknowledges the importance of S.A.A.M. and applauds Hudson S.P.E.A.K.S. for its decades-long commitment to assisting victims of sexual violence, underscoring its pivotal role in the community.

The Jersey City Council also unanimously passed a council resolution, which praised the organization for its steadfast efforts in creating safer communities by prioritizing the healing and well-being.

Hudson S.P.E.A.K.S. Against Sexual Violence, a county-wide non-profit sexual assault program under the umbrella of CarePoint Health, provides victim-centric services for individuals aged 13 and above, regardless of gender.

The organization’s mission is to foster safer communities by championing the healing and empowerment of sexual assault survivors.

This recognition from Jersey City acknowledges the tireless efforts and dedication of the staff at Hudson S.P.E.A.K.S., who provides support to people in distress and survivors who are brave enough to face their trauma and use the organization as a healing tool.

“At CarePoint Health, we never stop trying to help our community,” added CarePoint’s Chief of Staff and Vice President of Marketing and Patient Experience Justin Drew.

“We are so proud of our team at Hudson S.P.E.A.K.S. and the way they go above and beyond to support the healing of those who suffer from this type of violence.”
