“At CarePoint Health, our mission is centered on creating a healthcare environment that is accessible to everyone in the community,” CarePoint Health Vice President of Marketing Strategy & Patient Experience Justin Drew said in a statement.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with the Hoboken Senior Center to bring valuable health education and screenings directly to our senior residents. This initiative reflects our commitment to promoting wellness and providing resources that support the health needs of our community.”

The free health education sessions will cover a range of topics, including managing chronic conditions, nutrition and healthy eating habits, mental health and stress management, and
physical fitness and exercise tips for seniors.

Having the tools to manage vital health statistics, such as blood pressure, is key to lowering the risk of other health complications.

According to the American Heart Association, almost half of American adults have high blood pressure, which is the leading cause of stroke.

CarePoint will provide seniors with trained healthcare professionals to conduct blood pressure screenings during these sessions. This will offer participants an opportunity to take ownership of and manage this crucial aspect of their health.

The Hoboken Senior Center serves as an essential hub for the local senior community, providing a welcoming space for social interaction and engagement.

This program will continue into the new year as well, with future dates to be announced.
