A car crashed into the 7th Heaven Food Mart attached to a gas station in the Jersey City Heights this morning, prompting a large response from first responders.
The Jersey City Police and Fire Departments, along with the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office and an ambulance from the Jersey City Medial Center were all on the scene around 8:30 a.m.
The car drove right through a window on the right side of the convenience store and didn’t appear to have damaged any of the gas pumps along the way.
Yesterday at approximately 8:14 a.m., two motor vehicles collided at the intersection of Paterson Plank Road and New York Avenue, Hudson County Sheriff Frank Schillari said on Wednesday.
The first vehicle was driven by 35-year-old Jennifer L. Kotchkoski, who was traveling eastbound on Paterson Plank Road.
The vehicle second was driven by 60-year-old Ellen Antczack, whose vehicle was driving westbound on Paterson Plank Road and was struck by the first vehicle prior to turning southbound on New York Ave.
As a result of the accident, Antczack lost control of her vehicle and collided with the 7th Heaven Corner store, located on 376 Paterson Plank Road. The store was then occupied by Abdul Kahir, 26, of the accident.
The scene was cleared with the assistance of the Jersey City Fire Department and Jersey City Police Department, with all people in the area evacuated.
Antczack was then evaluated at Jersey City Medical Center for any injuries and she was later taken to Christ Hospital for further treatment. All other people involved refused medical treatment, authorities said.
Furthermore, Kotchkoski was issued one citation for driving with a suspended license and released from the scene.
