U.S. Navy Blue Angels and Air Force Thunderbirds flew over North Jersey and New York City about an hour ago to salute COVID-19 frontline responders.

The first of the two 40 minute flights, one for North Jersey and NYC and one for South Jersey, began at noon at George Washington Bridge before flying south along Hudson River traveling through Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island before turning back around.

The aerial tribute was visible in parts of Bergen, Hudson, Union and Essex counties and the video above was shot in the Jersey City Heights.

The tribute to frontline responders, healthcare workers, firefighters, police, and EMTs, has also been performed in Las Vegas.

As of this afternoon, the New Jersey Department of Health indicated that there are 14,309 coronavirus cases in Hudson County and 722 deaths, the second and third highest tallies in the state by county, respectively.
