Bayonne woman dies in four-alarm fire that displaces at least 16 people

A Bayonne woman died in a four-alarm fire that broke out near the intersection of 36th Street and Broadway, also displacing at least 16 people, authorities said.

The blaze began around 1:30 a.m. at 793 Broadway and spread to 795 Broadway, as well as 10 West 36th Street, officials said.

The 42-year-old woman who perished in the fire has since been identified as Ruvee Yao, who ran the Kumon learning center on the ground floor of 793 Broadway, The Jersey Journal reported.

Four firefighters were injured battling the blaze and Mama Rosina Cucina and Pizzeria, located on the ground level of 795 Broadway, sustain serious damage, authorities said.
