Richard Killmer, 33, is charged with one count of computer theft, a third-degree crime, Suarez said in a statement.

He was arrested without incident at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City earlier today and released on a summons pending his first court appearance on Thursday, June 9th.

An investigation by the HCPO Public Integrity Unit and the Bayonne Police Department Internal Affairs Unit determined Killmer utilized a law enforcement database on Saturday April 9th, while off duty, to obtain information for personal use.

According to public records, Killmer has been a Bayonne police officer since August 2012 and earned an annual salary of $142,800.
