The Special Needs Soccer Academy is open to all Bayonne residents ages 3 and up, is a program for mentally and physically challenged youth and will provide individualized attention to develop skills and fitness, and to emphasize the fun aspects of soccer.

A unique feature of the program is its use of athletes from the Bayonne High School Boys’ and Girls’ Varsity and JV Soccer teams. BHS players will be on hand to help assist the players in the academy. Youth soccer coaches will also be part of the program to assist.

The Special Needs Soccer Academy will meet on four Saturdays: October 7th, October 14th, October 21st, and October 28th from 11:30 a.m until 12:30 p.m. for each session.

Additionally, the academy will meet at Veterans Stadium and there is no fee to participate.

Those interested can register here and anyone seeking more information can call Recreation Director Pete Amadeo at (201) 858-6129 or email bayonnerec@aol.com.
