Yesterday, OEM reported in their daily update that there were 643 active cases of the coronavirus citywide. Today, that number has decreased marginally to 642.

Last week, Bayonne saw their COVID-19 cases drop from 556 to 542 before seeing gradual increases again throughout the week. Additionally, Mayor Jimmy Davis said on Wednesday that “we have flattened out the curve.”

Other information disclosed by OEM on Monday said that there have been two new fatalities, bringing their total to 48, and their recoveries are now at 172.

“Mayor Davis has sadly informed us that two more Bayonne residents have passed away.
Two women, ages 91 & 57 bring Bayonne’s total of Coronavirus-related fatalities to 48,” they wrote.

“Mayor Davis extends his sympathy, on behalf of all Bayonne residents, to the families of
both women.”

This afternoon, the New Jersey Department of Health indicated that there are 13,925 cases of COVID-19 in Hudson County and 673 deaths, the second and third most in the state by county, respectively.
