“Due to a recent break in the air conditioning unit at City Hall, Mayor Davis has announced that City Hall is now closed,” the city’s office of emergency management wrote on Facebook.

“Since ID cards cannot be distributed, any resident that wants to use the municipal pool, can show any form of ID with residency at the pool gate for admittance.”

The development comes just as the city had announced that resident ID cards would be available at the 16th Street Pool for $5 beginning Thursday, July 1st.

Hudson County is part of North Jersey under a heat advisory until Wednesday at 8 p.m., according to weather.com, with the current temperature approximately 95 degrees with heat index values up to about 104 degrees.
