Authorities seeking attacker who fatally stabbed 38-year-old Jersey City woman

Authorities are seeking the attacker who fatally stabbed a 38-year-old Jersey City woman in her home on Sunday afternoon, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced.

On Sunday, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Jersey City police responded to a report of an
injured female at 391 Forrest St. Upon arrival, responding officers found an unresponsive female victim at that location, Suarez said in a statement.

The victim has been identified as Takeela Wilson, age 38, who lived at that address. Wilson suffered an apparent stab wound to her torso and was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 4:35 p.m., officials said.

The Regional Medical Examiner’s Office has determined the cause of death to be a stab wound of the chest and the manner of death to be homicide.

Thus far, no arrests have been made in connection with the homicide.

The Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating the case with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department.
