Authorities are investigating the sexual assault of a 37-year-old woman in Jersey City that occurred early this morning, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced.

This morning at approximately 2:30 a.m., members of the Jersey City Police Department and the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit responded to a report of a sexual assault at knifepoint on Warner and Ocean Avenues, Suarez said in a statement.
The victim, a 37-year-old woman, was treated at Christ Hospital.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating this case and no arrests have been made at this time.

The prosecutor’s office, along with the JCPD, are also investigating four fatal shootings that have occurred in the last week, most recently the killing of 23-year-old Javone Smith.
