The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating an early morning crash on Route 1&9 that left two people seriously injured.

Just after 4 a.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a collision on Routes 1&9 between Duncan and Communipaw Avenues, according to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez
Responding officers located two vehicles with extensive damage on the southbound side of the roadway. The driver of a black Honda Accord, a 21-year-old Jersey City man, was treated for minor injuries.
The second vehicle, a white Honda Accord, was occupied by a driver, a 34-year-old Hackensack man, and one passenger, a 32-year-old Hackensack man. Both individuals were transported to a local hospital where they are being treated for serious injuries.
The circumstances of the crash are being investigated by the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit with assistance from the Jersey City PD.
