After a week of inconveniences due to a major water main break, Hoboken has sustained another water main break on Monroe Street, between 1st and 2nd Streets, early this morning.

SUEZ Water North Jersey says the break, which occurred before 6 a.m., will only affect about 100 customers this time around, as opposed to the entire city after a 36-inch water main broke last Sunday.

Downtown Jersey City was also impacted by the break.

The current eight-inch break will leave residents on the block of Monroe Street, between 1st and 2nd Streets, without water during the repairs.

As a result, the same area has been closed due to vehicular traffic.

Roads were fully reopened last night after the first week long stretch of repairs were completed.
