“The celebratory parade for @PeacocksMBB will begin at 2 p.m. on Friday in #JerseyCity,” Mayor Steven Fulop tweeted minutes ago.

“The parade will start at the Statue of Abraham Lincoln and proceed down JFK Boulevard. The parade will end in front of Saint Peter’s University – more info to follow. Hope to see you there.”

Fulop indicated that the Peacocks would receive a parade and keys to the city within minutes of getting eliminated by North Carolina in a 49-69 blowout Sunday evening.

While it was an anti-climatic finish, their historic run that included three straight victories over Kentucky, Murray State, and Purdue is one for the record books that won’t be soon forgotten – especially in Jersey City.

This morning, St. Peter’s announced that their star forward KC Ndefo has been named a finalist for the Lou Henson National Player of the Year.
