Hudson County SWAT arrests Bayonne man wanted for N.Y. murder, 2 guns, ammo, $3k cash recovered

The Hudson County Regional SWAT Team was joined by other law enforcement agencies to execute a search warrant at the home of Bayonne man wanted for a New York murder where two guns, ammunition, and $3,000 cash were recovered.

On Saturday, members of the SWAT Team, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Major Case Unit, the Bayonne Police Department, and the United States Marshals Service assisted the New York City Police Department in executing a search warrant pertaining to a homicide that occurred in New York City last month, Prosecutor Esther Suarez said in a statement.

At approximately 6 a.m., a court ordered search warrant was executed at 957 Broadway in Bayonne.

During the investigation, law enforcement recovered two handguns, one of which was reported stolen out of North Carolina, extended magazines, hollow point ammunition, a large quantity of marijuana, and over $3,000 in cash.

Kegwin Clarke, 26, of Bayonne, was arrested without incident and charged with two counts of possession of a firearm while in the course of committing a controlled dangerous substance offense, receiving stolen property, two counts of possession of prohibited weapons and devices, possession of a CDS, and possession of a CDS with the intent to distribute.

Clarke was wanted in connection to a Manhattan murder investigation. He was charged by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office as being a fugitive from justice, as well as being charged with murder by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.

Clarke was remanded to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance and will await extradition to New York.

Suarez credited the Hudson County Regional SWAT Team, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Major Case Unit, the Bayonne Police Department, the United States Marshals Service, the New York City Police Department and the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office with the investigation and arrest.

  1. Can this Clarke fellow say he identifies as an illegal immigrant? He’d have to be freed, given a swanky hotel room and registered to vote Democrat. Then he can be celebrated with membership in and a title in Chop Chop Chaz, the commie autonomous state.
